The STEPHAN LANGTON INN, Friday Street, is set in a tranquil valley on the privately owned Wotton Estate. Friday Street is a tiny hamlet, just a few miles west of Dorking in the heart of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Turn right at Friday Street's pond and you will find a proper local pub serving fine local ales such as Surrey Hills Ranmore Ale and Hogs Back TEA. Chef Simon Adams loves to create new dishes using fresh local produce and whatever is in season. Game from the Estate is often on the menu – Rabbit Pie and Pigeon Breasts for example. Classics include Corned Beef Hash, home-made Pork Pie and Piccalilli, Abinger Watercress Soup and Ploughman's using local cheeses served with delicious home-made bread. In fact everything is home-made here, even the pasta. The food is simple and unpretentious – just what you would expect in a cosy, friendly pub with wooden floors and open fires. So whether you are here for a drink, a quick bite to eat or sampling the menu in the recently refurbished restaurant and bar you will get a very warm welcome from your hosts Chris and Rosie Robinson.
